We started with the concept behind the business. Tyler explained that both he and his dad have been restoring homes for almost 10 years and it is a passion for them. From design to completion, they take great pride in their work. We decided to use a photo of one of their jobs as the backdrop for the wrap. It’s always best to let your work speak for you. I believe that there is a saying out there that you shouldn’t tell people what you are going to do, show them. And a picture is worth a thousand words. Tyler also really liked the gradient blues and grays. That’s when we decided to turn the photo into black and white and work off of the gray. The final piece was the logo. This took a good amount of time as a logo reflects on the company and needed to be exactly right. We tried different color combinations and text styles, different elements and contrasting shapes. All in all, about 10 different combinations until we got to the finished design and Tyler and his dad were very happy with the new logo. After working the logo into the design we finally had the design that Tyler was looking for.
Next, we printed the design. We only use Avery Premium Grade Wrap material and optically clear over-laminate. This presents the best combination of color and protection for the print. As we were printing multiple panels for each side, we made sure to print the panels in a way that allowed us to ensure that the color didn’t change through the printing process. After a quality check of all panels, we moved to installation. A quick run through the car wash and we began the installation. Care must be taken when wrapping any vehicle of size because the panels can stretch and distort the image, especially when you are covering almost 18 feet.
From the beginning of this project (design) through installation, it took us just under three weeks with most of the time coming from the design stage of the project.
