About Exterior Signs
Exterior signs fall into a great many categories. Some are lighted, others not. They can be very large, almost billboard sized or as small as a directional sign in a parking lot. The signs could be channel letters on a raceway, individual channel letters, halo lit channel letters, or even light boxes. Exterior signs can be an interior sign printed on an exterior grade substrate. The material can stand on its own, like a monument or pylon sign, or it can be adhered to a wall or window using vinyl that has an adhesive back. The signs can be made out of vinyl, plastic, acrylic, PVC, metal, wood or a blend of any of these. One of the principle factors in determining the proper substrate is the “TTL”. “TTL” stands for time to live. If your sign is meant to be a permanent addition, some type of metal/PVC would be the correct starting point. But if your sign needs to be changed often, then a more disposable substrate like vinyl or PVC might work.
Channel letters add a unique look compared to the cookie cutter style back lit signage.
